KIDS’ CLASSES
Our children’s classes are the perfect introduction to indoor climbing! Led by our enthusiastic coaches, the sessions are a mixture of climbing games and activities that allow children to explore the sport in a safe environment under the supervision of our staff. We have a range of classes suitable for children from 3 to 16 which can be booked online below…
Nicas And Wild Climbers.
Wanting your children to get something more out of their climbing? Our NICAS or Wild Climbers sessions could be the one for you! We are registered and experienced at delivering Nicas and Wild Climbers up to Level 3. Our coaches deliver fun, game based sessions, teaching safety and the fundamental skills to help progress your child’s climbing.
From certificates to stickers, there’s plenty of ways for your children to be rewarded for their effort. Just buy the appropriate book from reception and speak to a member of staff to get started!

NICAS bouldering is a UK wide scheme designed to introduce participants to bouldering through a structured program. This scheme covers technique, movement and problem-solving skills that are specific to bouldering. NICAS bouldering is aimed at individuals aged 7+ whether you are an absolute beginner or an experienced climber looking to broaden your technical skills. Our centre Accommodates climbers from 3+ for Wild Climbers and 7+ for NICAS. Sessions prices at £12 per hour.

Wild Climbers is a game-based approach to climbing for ages 3+ which takes your little ones though key skills required for bouldering and beyond. Working through 3 key learning areas of the EYFS (Early years Foundation Stage) children will gain skills in communication, physical development and emotional development. 6 core values covered in the scheme are; Balance, Co-ordination, Focus, Agility, Communication and Team work. Friction Development Class
Open from ages 7+ our development class will focus on the climbers’ personal progression needs and individual goals. The sessions have been put together by our coaches here at friction, to allow young climbers the ability to work through skills with their goals in mind. Sessions will be aimed at those who are keen to develop their own skills in order to transition to our academy/competition team. The sessions can be taken alongside our NICAS sessions or as one offs. Sessions are £14 for the 90 minute class.
Friction Academy
Our academies’ focus on progressing young climbers to compete
individually or as a team across regional and national levels. This is achieved by focusing on
everyone’s goals and specific needs, with the contribution of our coaching team who have
put together this amazing program. Although our academy is designed to focus on
individuals who want to compete, our main goal as coaches is that our team, first learns the
real winners are the ones who are having the most FUN!

Kids Coaching
Community climbing – We can cater for Scouts, schools and youth groups. Whether you want a game-based session, or a group induction and use of our facilities, please submit your query and one of our team will be in touch to arrange a suitable date and time to get you all on the wall. £12 per child for a one hour session, which includes a carton of juice and a brownie.
Family Booking
If you are looking for a fun day out and want to give bouldering a try, we can accommodate your group needs and work out a session to suit your family. Please submit your query and one of our coaches will be in touch to arrange a suitable date and time that best suits you! Adult price £14 and £6 per additional child for a one hour coach led session. (redeemable for first session only)
Birthday Parties
If you want something a bit different for an upcoming birthday, we can accommodate parties up to 16 children between 3-7 and up to 20 children between 7-13.
